Hook Heath Neighbourhood Forum

JULY 2013

Don’t delay: voice your support today

The six week-long public consultation on our application to register the Hook Heath Neighbourhood Area and Forum ends on Friday 2 August.

Many thanks to all those of you who have sent e-mails or have written to Woking Borough Council expressing your support for our application.

If you have not done so yet, please remember to do so in the next few days before the 2 August deadline.

It is vitally important that we are able to provide WBC with a strong and positive response to the consultation exercise.

Your message can be as simple (or as fulsome) as you wish. The example below will be fine.

“I support the application by the residents and businesses of the area for the designation of a Neighbourhood Area and a Neighbourhood Forum for Hook Heath.”

There are three easy ways to register your support:

• You can send an e-mail to: planningpolicy@woking.gov.uk.

• You can visit http://www.hookheathforum.hhra.co.uk and complete your message on-line direct to WBC.

• You can write to Jeni Jackson, Head of Planning Services, WBC, Civic Offices, Woking, GU21 6YL.

Separate submissions can be made by everyone at your address.

Don’t forget, the consultation period ends on Friday 2 August 2013.

Thank you for your interest and support.

Information about the Forum and the proposed Neighbourhood Plan can be viewed at: http://www.hookheathforum.hhra.co.uk or at www.woking.gov.uk.

A notice inviting comments from residents was posted on the WBC website (www.woking.gov.uk) on Friday 14 June. A similar public notice was published in the Woking News & Mail on Thursday 20 June.

Forum support grows

Over the past few weeks and months, interest in and support for the proposed Neighbourhood Area and the Forum has grown steadily. There are now more than 80 individuals who have registered their interest in the Forum which is most encouraging.

We are making good progress with developing our plans and I hope that we shall be able to benefit from the knowledge, expertise and professional skills of everyone who has shown an interest through their expressions of support.

Your Hook Heath images

The Forum is keen to develop an archive of good quality images of Hook Heath. In the first instance they will be published on our website (http://www.hookheathforum.hhra.co.uk) and subsequently we shall want to include some of them in the Neighbourhood Plan that we submit to WBC.

So, if you have a favourite photograph(s) or painting(s) of a feature of Hook Heath that you feel reflects the unique character of the area, send your images to: photos@hhra.co.uk.

Neil Cryer, who is handling submissions, requests that your images should be submitted as a JPEG file of not more than 5 megabytes.

Forum meeting

The next meeting of the Forum takes place on Wednesday 24 July at Gorse Hill, commencing at 7.30pm. The agenda is being circulated with this UPDATE CONSULTATION SPECIAL. I hope to see you there.

Best wishes

Peter Hill
